Episode 138 – Adam West, Ice Cube, and Eminent Domain

We begin our discussion with an awkward remembrance of the guy that basically turned Josh into a fan of super heroes and Batman in particular.  Adam West was an incredible figure that embraced his success and his typecast and spent most of his life helping to make it special for the fans.  Then we talk about the Dallas City Council and how one member of the council is irate that a wealthy man would dare fight against the eminent domain threat against his property because any normal person would be financially constrained into allowing the government to taking their property without a fight.  We then re-visit our Bill Maher discussion from last week.  He’s since had Ice Cube on his show to talk about what happened, so we discuss that conversation and also whether or not the N-word should exist at all.  Here in Indiana, there’s a huge story about allowing Sunday alcohol sales and cold beer sales outside of liquor stores.  The liquor stores are lobbying against both by throwing every dollar they have at it, while the rest of the state has common sense and can’t wait to change the archaic laws. Cell phones were held back from the public for nearly 45 years by the FCC…how much further would they have advanced by now if it wasn’t for government interference?
